Nata is an iPhone app that turns birthdays you already have into messages you actually send. Published in September 2026, it reads the dates already sitting in Contacts (and, optionally, Calendar), writes a message tailored to that person, and leaves only the final tap — the send — to you. No automatic messages, ever.
The problem
Everyone knows when a birthday is coming. Almost nobody turns that into a well-written message sent on time. The gap isn't remembering — it's finding the words and doing it before the day is gone.
My role
I directed the product, tested every build on a real device, and managed the Apple Developer account and the entire App Store submission. The build itself — the Swift/SwiftUI architecture, the icon and widget design, the copy, the App Store metadata — was written entirely through AI-pairing with Claude Code. I didn't write the code; I made the decisions and verified every step on my own phone.
Where AI actually did the work
This wasn't AI for copywriting. It wrote the full codebase — SwiftUI and SwiftData, on-device message generation with Apple Intelligence — debugged real build errors, ran a structured audit against Apple's App Review guidelines before submission, and walked me through Xcode, code signing, and every App Store Connect screen, including a resolved clarification request from Apple's review team.
Process
Defined the product and the architecture — no server, every message generated on-device for privacy
Iterated from real screenshots taken on my phone: every interface bug was caught by looking at the running app, not the code
Ran a pre-submission audit against Apple's guidelines before the first submission
Shipped, handled one Apple review cycle, and released v1.1 with Apple Calendar birthday sync
Result
Live on the App Store since mid-September 2026, free, in Italian and English. No usage numbers yet — worth updating this section in a few weeks with real figures.
